Paul's work lies in that area where conventional western psychology overlaps with traditional non-western approaches. Whereas western psychology would refer to memory returning to the memory track, native healers would talk about "soul retrieval," and collecting up lost soul parts. A primary difference is in the quickening of the process of healing.

He is expert at working with dreams

Areas of special interest include matters of relationship formation, treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, making change in one’s life, cultural , sexual and gender identity matters, healing trauma, and the related issues of loss and abuse.

The office includes associated Licensed Clinicians who make use of the space, bringing their own specialties in working with Adults, Children, Couples and Families, and addressing issues related to the creative process, sexuality, trauma recovery, teen counseling, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) services are available, as well.
